NG Awards 2012 – Best Film

2012 was a massive year. It saw some great games, TV, movies as well as the 50th anniversary to the Bond one of the biggest franchises of all time. There is no better way then to celebrate a whole year than to give out awards so we can stroll down memory lane and remember the great things that happened in 2012.

Best Film 2012 – The Dark Knight Rises

Many picked fault with The Dark Knight Rises, for those people nothing could top Heath Ledger’s Joker and the magnificent film that was The Dark Knight. For me on the other hand, this film does. Before you get angry, Heath Ledger was sensational as the Joker and The Dark Knight was a truly amazing film but I disagree with anybody that thinks this film is not on par with its predecessor. In fact I will go as far as to say it was the best film of 2012, which is how we got here.
It is absolutely no secret that I love Tom Hardy, his performance in TDKR is phenomenal, because of his mask he only has his muscles and eyes to do his acting with and he still manages such a presence on the screen. Whilst Tom Hardy as Bane was great casting, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle was a stroke of genius. The way she would went from nervous maid to confident cat burglar in the blink of an eye was fantastic.
TDKR took the audience on an emotional and physical journey, we got to see Gotham and everything Bruce Wayne sacrificed his life for fall. We witnessed the end to one of the best modern trilogies in film history, and for me the best film of 2012.
